Kuwait to face Saudi Arabia

KUWAIT CITY, July 17: Kuwait National Men’s junior handball team will face the Saudi national team at 4:00 pm today in the second round of the first group of the preliminary round of the 17th Asian Youth Cup held in Bahrain. Kuwait earned a valuable point from the South Korean team, after a draw in its opening match 26-26.

The tournament started last Friday with the participation of 8 teams and will continue until the 24th of this month, and the first and second places from each group qualify for the semi-finals, in addition to qualifying directly for the World Cup that will be held in Germany and Greece next year. 

The technical staff of the Blue, led by Spanish coach Isidro, had put the final touches on the formation after the foreign camps in Spain, Portugal, Egypt and the local preparation in Kuwait before the start of the tournament. Isidro stressed that the Korea match was a very difficult test, but the players presented a distinguished level and succeeded in snatching an important point, and today the team must redouble its efforts to reach a positive result, stressing that the main goal is to kidnap one of the qualifications for the World Cup finals.
