Kuwait to compete at Arab Women’s Clubs Games in Sharjah

DUBAI, Jan 13: Kuwait will participate in the eighth edition of the Arab Women’s Clubs Games, set to take place in the Emirate of Sharjah from February 2 to 12, under the patronage of Sheikha Jawaher Al-Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Family and Community Council. The event will feature 63 women’s sports teams from 16 Arab countries.

The competition will include nine individual and team sports: basketball, volleyball, table tennis, fencing, athletics, shooting, and archery. This year, rowing and taekwondo (G1 international classification) have been added to the program for the first time.

Participating nations include Jordan, Bahrain, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Somalia, Iraq, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Lebanon, Libya, Egypt, Morocco, alongside host Sharjah.

The details of the eighth edition were announced at a press conference held at the Sharjah Olympic Center for Women’s Sports, attended by Sheikh Khalid Al-Qasimi, Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee; Hanan Al-Mahmoud, Vice Chairperson of the Organizing Committee and Head of the Executive Committee; and Moza Al-Shamsi, Director of the Arab Women’s Clubs Games.

Sheikh Khalid Al-Qasimi highlighted that the Games reflect the civilizational vision of the Emirate of Sharjah, established and supported by Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al-Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.
