KUWAIT CITY, Sep 19: Kuwait Municipality has announced that its teams will begin the removal of livestock camps and tents in Al-Jahra Governorate this Sunday. The operation will cover an area of 87 square kilometers across two sites along Salmi Road.
The clearance will be conducted by the Violations Removal Department and the Cleanliness Department, in coordination with relevant authorities, including the Ministry of Electricity and Water, the Public Authority for Agriculture, and the Ministry of Interior. The move is part of preparatory work for the implementation of a large-scale renewable energy project in the area.
The upcoming project is a comprehensive renewable energy complex that will incorporate three advanced technologies: photovoltaic solar energy (PV), concentrated solar power (CSP), and wind energy (WE). Once completed, the facility is expected to have a total capacity exceeding 2 gigawatts (GW), significantly boosting Kuwait’s clean energy production and contributing to the nation’s sustainable energy goals.

Authorities emphasized that the removal of livestock camps is necessary to ensure the successful execution of the project while maintaining public safety and coordination among all stakeholders.
