Kuwait to ban trucks on main roads during peak hours from Sept. 1
The Interior Ministry said trucks will be barred from Kuwait’s main roads starting Sept. 1.

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 30: The Ministry of Interior, represented by the General Directorate of Traffic, announced on Saturday that trucks will be restricted from using main roads during peak hours, effective from September 1, 2025, until June 14, 2026.

In a statement, the ministry said the ban will apply from 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. local time.

The General Directorate of Traffic further clarified that between June 15, 2026, and August 31, 2026, the restriction will be limited to the afternoon period, from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The ministry stressed that these measures aim to regulate traffic flow, reduce congestion, and enhance road safety. It urged truck drivers to comply with the designated timings to avoid legal accountability.
