KUWAIT CITY, April 12: Minister of Justice Counselor Nasser Al-Sumait, in his capacity as Chairman of the National Standing Committee for Combating Trafficking in Persons and Smuggling of Migrants, chaired the committee’s meeting to begin implementing the recommendations of the National Strategy approved by the Cabinet, reports Al-Seyassah daily. Al-Sumait explained that the committee has initiated the necessary executive steps to activate the approved recommendations, thereby strengthening prevention efforts, providing greater protection for victims, enhancing their rights, and improving the efficiency of monitoring and prosecution.

This will also bolster coordination among relevant authorities, in accordance with a structured national approach aligned with international standards. He stressed that the committee will submit quarterly reports to the Cabinet on the progress made in implementing the recommendations. Al-Sumait said these reports will ensure continuous monitoring and enhance the effectiveness of national efforts in combating trafficking in persons and smuggling of migrants.
