KUWAIT CITY, Jan 25:  The Ministry of Interior, successfully foiled a terrorist cell's plot to attack Shiite places of worship in Rumaithiya and harm innocent people. The ministry reported that its security personnel effectively tracked the cell, observed their activities, and arrested three Tunisian citizens associated with the terrorist organization ISIS. All accused individuals have been handed over to the Public Prosecution for legal proceedings.

As per the latest developments, they have been detained by the prosecution for 21 days and transferred to the central prison after confessing to their affiliation with the banned ISIS terror organization and revealing plans to carry out terrorist operations in Kuwait. Their admission included monitoring several Husseiniyahs (Shiite Mosques) in Kuwait for three weeks as part of their preparation for terrorist activities. The targeted location for their planned attack was a place of worship in Rumaithiya.

They had valid work permits in Kuwait but had no possession of weapons. Substantial evidence was discovered at their residence, confirming their connection and affiliation with ISIS. They have confessed to their connections with ISIS leaders based in Libya, Syria, and Iraq through the Telegram app.

Next week, they are scheduled to appear before a judge for a detention renewal hearing. The charges they are set to face include belonging to a terror organization and plotting terrorist operations against religious worship places.
