MANAMA, Sept 3 (KUNA): Kuwait’s national fencing team added 16 medals on the fourth day of the West Asia Fencing Championship in Bahrain, which features 310 athletes from 10 countries.
In the Under-15 boys’ épée, Khaled Al-Houli, Ghazi Al-Enezi, Youssef Al-Shammari, and Hussein Al-Hashimi each secured silver medals, while the Under-15girls’ épée saw Suhaila Al-Nakas, Hebari Al-Thuwaini, Sheikha Al-Bati, and Fatima Mohammed also claim silver.
In the Under-15 girls’ foil, Noor Al-Najjar, Zaina Al-Omair, Sofia Al-Qattan, and Sheikha Al-Majleham finished second, adding four more silver medals. Meanwhile, Bader Al-Saleh, Abdulrahman Al-Subti, Abdullah Al-Rashidi, and Ahmed Jaber earned bronze medals in the Under-15 boys’ foil category.
With these results, Kuwait’s overall medal tally in the championship, held at Al-Najma Sports Club in Bahrain from August 30 to September 4, has risen to 37 medals.
