Kuwait takes part in Special Olympics coaches training course

QASSIM, Saudi Arabia, Oct 28: Special Olympics Kuwait is actively engaged in an advanced training program focused on preparing chief athletics coaches. This significant course, hosted by Special Olympics Saudi Arabia, unfolds in the vibrant city of Qassim and spans four days. Kuwait is proudly represented in this endeavor.

Trainer Salma Al-Obaid stood out as one of the distinguished representatives, alongside 20 male and female coaches hailing from 14 different countries. This collective effort is part of the Regional Presidency of the Special Olympics, driven by the imperative to revitalize Special Olympics activities across all domains following a hiatus brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. The strategy involves the meticulous implementation of a comprehensive training plan and the orchestration of a series of courses targeting senior coaches.

This is a foundational step aimed at nurturing the next generation of coaches for their respective programs. It is noteworthy that powerlifting has emerged as the most prominent sport within the Special Olympics.
Coach Salma Al-Obaid expressed her profound satisfaction at being a part of this course, recognizing its pivotal significance in her professional journey.
