DUBAI, Jan 24: The Kuwait swimming team continued its stellar performance at the Gulf Swimming Championships in the United Arab Emirates, boosting its medal tally to 45 and finishing second overall.

The men’s team claimed 33 medals—14 gold, 13 silver, and 6 bronze—while the women’s team contributed 12 medals, including 1 gold, 5 silver, and 6 bronze. Kuwait’s total medal count for the championship now stands at 15 gold, 18 silver, and 12 bronze, with the event having started last Thursday.

Kuwaiti delegation head Musa Bushahri said the results reflect the growing technical level of Kuwait’s swimmers and highlighted that this championship serves as an important step in preparing the national teams for upcoming competitions.

Bushahri added that the event featured high-level competition and close contests among Gulf teams, which pushed athletes to perform at their best. He also noted that the impressive results demonstrate the success of Kuwait’s technical training programs.
