KUWAIT CITY, Feb 28: The Kuwaiti Civil Aviation Authority has announced the suspension and cancellation of all flights from Kuwait to Iran until further notice, citing the ongoing political and military developments in the region and the complete closure of Iranian airspace.

In a statement, the authority’s official spokesperson, Abdullah Al-Rajhi, said the move was taken to ensure the highest standards of aviation safety and in line with international procedures applied during exceptional circumstances.

Al-Rajhi noted that additional flights could also face disruptions, as some routes previously relied on transit through Iranian airspace. The closure is expected to result in delays to several services while alternative flight paths are arranged and operational safety requirements are met.

The authority affirmed that it is closely monitoring developments around the clock in coordination with relevant local and international bodies. It added that any updates regarding the resumption of flights will be announced once conditions stabilize and Iranian airspace reopens.
