KUWAIT CITY, March 25: Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has summoned the Ambassador of Iran for the third time since the escalation began, delivering a formal protest over continued attacks targeting the country.
Acting Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Aziz Rahim Al-Deihani met with Iranian Ambassador Mohammad Toutounji and handed him an official protest note condemning the latest strikes. The move follows a drone attack earlier الأربعاء that hit fuel tanks at Kuwait International Airport, a civilian facility, triggering a fire.
Al-Deihani described the incident as a serious violation of international humanitarian law and reaffirmed Kuwait’s strong condemnation of what he called ongoing Iranian aggression. He stressed that the attacks represent a clear breach of Kuwait’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and airspace, as well as a violation of international law and the United Nations Charter.
He also warned that the escalation undermines regional and international peace and security, calling for an immediate halt to the attacks and holding Iran fully responsible for their consequences.
The Kuwaiti official further affirmed the country’s inherent right to self-defence under Article 51 of the UN Charter.
