DOHA, July 28 (KUNA): Kuwait suffered its third consecutive defeat in the GCC Zone qualifiers for the FIBA U-18 Asia Cup, losing 81-53 to host nation Qatar in Doha.

In the other fixture, Bahrain dominated Oman with a convincing 94-49 victory.

Kuwait had opened its campaign with a narrow 62-59 loss to Oman before falling heavily to Bahrain, 106-51, in its second outing.

The Blues will wrap up the first round of the tournament with a clash against Saudi Arabia at 4:00 p.m. today.

The GCC qualifiers are being held from July 25 to 30 at Al Gharafa Sports Hall in Doha, featuring five teams — Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Oman. The tournament follows a round-robin format, with the top two finishers securing places at the FIBA U-18 Asia Cup finals in India next month.
