Kuwaiti and Egyptian players vie for the ball.

CAIRO, Oct 21: Kuwait’s U-17 national team suffered a 3–0 loss to Egypt, while Saudi Arabia was held to a 1–1 draw by Yemen in the latest Group B matches of the Gulf U-17 Cup at Saoud bin Abdulrahman Stadium.

Egypt took control with two goals from Mohamed Attia in the 40th and 47th minutes before Amir Abdelmageed sealed the victory with a third in the 74th minute.

The result followed Egypt’s emphatic 5–0 win over Saudi Arabia in their opening match last Saturday. Kuwait, meanwhile, was making its first appearance in the tournament.

In the other Group B fixture at Hamad bin Khalifa Stadium, Yemen took the lead through Mohamed Aziz in the 31st minute. Saudi Arabia salvaged a point when Mishari Al-Shahrani equalized in second-half stoppage time.

Ten teams are competing in this year’s tournament, with Egypt and China participating as guest teams alongside Qatar, the UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Yemen.
