KUWAIT CITY, Feb 4: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has confirmed that Australia, South Korea, and Kuwait have officially submitted bids to host the 2035 AFC Asian Cup, while also expressing interest in hosting the 2031 edition.

The AFC is expected to announce the host countries for both tournaments during a single General Assembly meeting, following a proposal by AFC President Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa.

Japan has also indicated its desire to host the 2035 edition independently, adding another contender to the bidding process.

The AFC will now work closely with participating member associations to ensure the submission of all required documentation for their bids.

For the 2031 tournament, three other bids have been submitted: India, Indonesia, and a joint bid from Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia is confirmed as the host for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup, with the official tournament draw scheduled for April.
