Kuwait Strips Citizenship from 2,192 Individuals

KUWAIT CITY, June 14: The official gazette Kuwait Alyoum published eight decrees on citizenship matters, including seven decrees revoking Kuwaiti citizenship from a total of 2,192 individuals, along with those who acquired citizenship through dependency or association, and one decree withdrawing citizenship from a single individual.

According to the published decrees, Decree No. 90 of 2026 stipulates the withdrawal of citizenship from 26 individuals and those linked to them by association.
Decree No. 91 of 2026 revokes citizenship from 5 individuals and their dependents.
The largest of the series, Decree No. 92 of 2026, orders the revocation of citizenship from 1,594 individuals and those who obtained citizenship through dependency.

Decree No. 93 of 2026 also withdraws citizenship from 491 individuals and their dependents. In addition, Decree No. 94 of 2026 cancels citizenship for one individual only.

Further decrees included Decree No. 95 of 2026, which revokes citizenship from 4 individuals and their associated dependents, Decree No. 96 of 2026 affecting 2 individuals and their dependents, and Decree No. 97 of 2026, which withdraws citizenship from 70 individuals and those linked to them through association.

The publication did not provide further details on the grounds for the decisions, which were issued as part of the official legal procedures and published in accordance with state regulations.
