KUWAIT CITY, Nov 15: Kuwait’s Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi, said Saturday that the “Better Health with Diabetes” awareness day, held in conjunction with World Diabetes Day on November 14, is part of the ministry’s strategy to strengthen public outreach and enhance disease prevention.

In a press statement issued during the event at The Avenues Mall, Al-Awadhi said the activity saw broad participation from various ministry departments, all committed to spreading health awareness among adults and children through diabetes screenings, blood pressure tests, and the distribution of informational materials.

He noted that the event presented “an attractive and integrated image” of the medical team — including doctors, nurses, technicians, and administrative staff — engaging directly with the public. Reaching people in interactive community spaces, he said, is a key element of the ministry’s mission to promote prevention and curb the progression of chronic diseases, particularly diabetes.

Al-Awadhi added that the surgery department took part by raising awareness about diabetic foot protection and outlining available treatments, while other departments provided nutritional guidance and health information. These efforts, he said, support the ministry’s goal of strengthening prevention methods and ensuring comprehensive healthcare for diabetic patients.
