Kuwait stocks end in red

KUWAIT CITY, June 22: Boursa Kuwait ended Monday’s trading session in negative territory, with its general index declining by 17.02 points, or 0.19 percent, to close at 8,742.73 points. Trading activity saw 368.9 million shares change hands through 22,468 transactions, with a total value of KD 96.2 million (approximately USD 313.2 million). The Main Market index recorded the steepest drop, falling 61.43 points, or 0.70 percent, to 8,734.46 points. Trading volume reached 175.5 million shares across 9,407 transactions, valued at KD 28 million (approximately USD 91.1 million). The Premier Market index also edged lower, shedding 8.46 points, or 0.09 percent, to settle at 9,198.21 points, with 193.3 million shares traded through 13,061 transactions worth KD 68.1 million (approximately USD 221.7 million). Meanwhile, the Main 50 Index declined by 42.90 points, or 0.44 percent, to close at 9,701.06 points, with 155.9 million shares traded in 7,561 transactions valued at KD 24.7 million (approximately USD 80.4 million).
