Kuwait steps up readiness for Saudi Super Cup

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 7: Kuwait’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah chaired a coordination meeting on Wednesday to assess Kuwait’s readiness to host Saudi Super Cup matches. The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology and Acting Minister of Information and Culture Omar Al-Omar and Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs Dr. Tareq Al-Jalahma. In a press statement issued by the Ministry of Interior (MoI), Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef underscored the importance of continuously monitoring preparations on the ground, maintaining direct coordination among relevant authorities and confronting any obstacles promptly.

This would ensure all agencies are fully prepared and able to perform their duties accurately and efficiently, safeguard the safety of fans and participants, ensure the matches are well organized and present the sporting event in a manner befitting Kuwait, he said. The meeting also aimed to follow-up on preparations for hosting the matches, strengthen coordination among relevant authorities, integrate security, organizational and media efforts, complete hosting requirements and provide the necessary facilities for fans and participants.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the MoI, Kuwait Fire Force (KFF), Ministry of Health (MoH), Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy (MEW), Kuwait Municipality, Public Authority for Youth and Sports and Kuwait Football Association. Representatives of the event’s private-sector hosts also attended, including Aayan Leasing and Investment Company Vice Chairman Fahad Al-Ghanim and Al-Rai Media Group Chief Executive Offi cer (CEO) Rashid Al-Omairi.
