CAIRO, July 1: The Kuwait national volleyball team has stepped up its preparations by beginning an intensive training camp in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, ahead of the second West Asia Men’s Volleyball Championship, scheduled to take place in Oman from July 11 to 22.
The squad is currently undergoing two training sessions daily, focusing on both physical conditioning and technical development. The coaching staff is working on improving fitness levels, correcting technical errors, and implementing tactical systems that will be used during the tournament. A key priority is also building greater cohesion among players, especially after the full squad assembled for the camp.
As part of the preparation program, the team will play a series of friendly matches against Egyptian clubs, allowing the technical staff to assess player performance and finalize the most suitable lineup before heading to Oman.
The championship represents an important competitive test for Kuwait, offering valuable exposure against strong regional opponents and serving as a key step in the team’s build-up to future international commitments.Team officials are hopeful that the training camp will achieve its objectives and that the squad will deliver a strong performance reflecting the continued progress of Kuwaiti volleyball, building on recent positive results from national teams across different age groups.
The draw for the tournament placed Kuwait in Group A alongside Qatar and Syria, while Group B consists of hosts Oman, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Lebanon.
