KUWAIT CITY, Aug 30: Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah on Thursday issued a decision to dismiss the chairman of a cooperative society after internal investigations confirmed serious violations contradicting laws and regulations governing cooperative work.
In a press statement, Al-Huwailah said the investigations revealed financial and administrative violations that required accountability, prompting the dismissal to protect shareholders’ interests and ensure the integrity of cooperative work.
She added that the ministry referred the entire case to the Public Prosecution, including violations attributed to previous and current boards of directors, as well as certain ministry employees. Legal measures will be taken against anyone proven to have breached the law, she said.

Al-Huwailah stressed that no one is above the law and that cooperative work is a societal trust demanding transparency and integrity. She emphasized that anyone misusing their position will be held accountable under the law.
The minister affirmed that the Ministry of Social Affairs continues to strengthen oversight of cooperative societies and will not tolerate violations or transgressions that harm cooperative work or citizens’ interests, pledging full legal action against any proven offenders.
