Players in training session.

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 8: The Kuwaiti national soccer team embarks on a journey to the Egyptian capital, Cairo, where they will establish an external training camp lasting until January 22.

During their stay in Egypt, Kuwait will engage in two friendly matches. The first is against  Libya   next Friday, followed by a second encounter with Uganda on the 19th of the same month.

The Kuwait opted out of the upcoming Asian Cup competitions, commencing next Friday in Doha, Qatar. Instead, their focus is on preparing for the forthcoming challenges, particularly the double-header against Qatar in March for the joint qualifiers leading to the 2026 World Cup finals in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, as well as the 2027 Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia.

Simultaneously, the Olympic team's delegation is also departing today for Thailand to establish an external training camp, spanning until January 22. Throughout this period, the team will participate in a series of friendly matches.

This camp serves as a crucial component of the preparations for the AFC U-23 Championship, scheduled to take place in Qatar from April 13 to May 3.
