KUWAIT CITY, July 8: Kuwait has strongly condemned what it described as the latest Iranian aggression against the country, calling it a blatant violation of its sovereignty and a serious threat to national security.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the State of Kuwait "condemns and strongly denounces the repeated heinous Iranian aggressions against the State of Kuwait, the latest of which occurred this morning."
The ministry said the incident represented "a flagrant violation of its sovereignty, a direct threat to its security and stability, and to the safety of its citizens and residents," adding that it also constituted "a grave breach of the rules of international law, the United Nations Charter, and Security Council Resolution 2817."
Kuwait warned that the continued attacks come at a time when regional and international efforts are focused on easing tensions, saying the repeated aggressions "constitute a systematic undermining of efforts to reduce tensions and strike at the supporting international will for this path."
Reaffirming its position, the ministry declared that "the security of the State of Kuwait, its sovereignty, and the safety of its citizens and residents on its soil are a red line that cannot be crossed."
The statement concluded by stressing Kuwait's "inherent and legitimate right to take all necessary measures to preserve its sovereignty and protect its security and stability."
