KUWAIT CITY, April 11: The Ministry of Interior on Saturday reassured the public that the airspace of the country was safe and secure in the last 24 hours. Speaking in the media briefing on the latest developments held at the Government Communication Center, Director of the Public Relations and Security Media General Department at the ministry and its spokesperson Brigadier General Nasser Bouslaib confirmed that the Kuwait Armed Forces remains on high alert and in full coordination with other concerned bodies in dealing with any emergency. He also expressed the pride and appreciation of the Kuwaiti people that enabled the state to perform its duties with utmost efficiency under the wise political leadership. Earlier, the ministry announced that its EOD teams responded to nine reports about falling shrapnel from defensive interception operations.
Bouslaib said the total number of reports received since the beginning of the aggression has reached 802. He presented a visual overview of the field efforts exerted by the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams to handle reports about falling shrapnel or unidentified objects. He said the State agencies continue their work with a high degree of organization and readiness to monitor developments and ensure the security of the nation and the safety of its citizens.
He stressed that the security and military forces remain committed to their national responsibilities and continue to perform their duties with utmost efficiency and competence, determination and vigilance, in coordination with other concerned agencies. He pointed out that “the security personnel — the vigilant eyes — continue to perform their duties with dedication and high level of alertness in various fields to maintain national security and guarantee the safety of everyone. They are always ready to immediately deal with any threat or field development under these exceptional circumstances, which require the highest levels of readiness and national solidarity.”
In a related development, the Ministry of Defense recently released statistics about the brutal Iranian attacks on the country from Feb 28 until April 10. The total number of attacks reached 1,221 -- 852 drones, 354 ballistic missiles and 15 cruise missiles. The Kuwait Army, Ministry of Interior, Kuwait National Guard (KNG) and Kuwait Fire Force (KFF) responded to these attacks heroically and efficiently.
Ministry of Defense spokesman Colonel Staff Saud Al- Atwan disclosed on Friday that the Armed Forces dealt with seven hostile drones that breached the Kuwaiti airspace over the past 24 hours as per the established procedures. He said “The heinous Iranian aggression targeted several vital KNG installations, injuring some personnel who are currently undergoing treatment and are in stable condition. The attack caused enormous material damage. The EOD team at the Land Forces Engineering Unit responded to 14 reports.”
He asserted that members of the Armed Forces continue to perform their national duty with a high level of confidence and discipline, proving their commitment to protect the homeland and maintain national security and stability. He also affirmed that they are always ready to carry out their tasks with utmost efficiency.
Meanwhile, KNG Chief Sheikh Mubarak Al-Hamoud Al-Sabah inspected the KNG site targeted Thursday by hostile drones to review the procedures implemented in dealing with the incident. In a press statement, KNG revealed that during the visit, Sheikh Mubarak Al-Hamoud underscored the importance of raising the level of readiness and vigilance at all locations. He commended the efficiency of the KNG personnel and their rapid response to developments in order to protect vital installations and maintain national security. He issued a directive to immediately repair the damaged site and restore its operations to ensure the continuity of work and the protection of vital installations. He prayed to Almighty Allah to protect Kuwait and its people from all forms of harm under the wise leadership.
Moreover, Sheikh Mubarak Al- Hamoud visited the injured personnel at Jaber Al-Ahmad Hospital on Friday to check on their health condition. During the visit, he reaffirmed the commitment of KNG to closely monitor the condition of all the injured and provide them with comprehensive medical care. He commended their courage and dedication in performing their national duty. He added that the KNG personnel continue to carry out their duties with the highest level of efficiency and readiness to maintain national security and territorial integrity.
He prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured, and for Kuwait, its leadership and its people to be protected from all forms of harm. Deputy KNG Chief Sheikh Faisal Al-Nawaf also visited the injured personnel to personally look into their health condition. He lauded their bravery and devotion in performing their national duty, emphasizing that their action proves the level of responsibility and loyalty of the KNG personnel in facing various challenges.
He was briefed by the medical staff regarding the condition of the injured and the treatment services provided to them, expressing his appreciation for the efforts exerted by the medical team and wishing the injured speedy recovery and good health. He stressed that KNG focuses on the well-being of its personnel, especially under such circumstances, confirming that their safety is the top priority.
He implored Almighty Allah to protect Kuwait and its people from all forms of harm under its wise leadership. KNG Undersecretary Lieutenant General Hamad Al-Barjas also visited the injured, during which he conveyed the message of the KNG leadership and their wishes for speedy recovery and good health for the injured. He was also briefed on their health condition and the treatment services provided to them, confirming the commitment of KNG to continuously monitor their condition.
