CAIRO, Sept 22: The Saud Al-Nasser Al-Sabah Diplomatic Institute of Kuwait has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping, and Peacebuilding (CCCPA), a subsidiary of the Egyptian Foreign Ministry. The MoU, signed on Sunday, aims to enhance bilateral cooperation in the areas of regional security and diplomatic capacity building.
The agreement outlines a framework for collaboration between the two institutions, focusing on training, research, and knowledge exchange. Key areas of cooperation will include mediation, conflict resolution, and the integration of women into peace and security processes, Ambassador Nasser Al-Subaih, Assistant Foreign Minister for the Diplomatic Institute, said in a statement to KUNA after the signing.
“This MoU comes as part of our shared efforts to foster security and stability across the Arab region by facilitating the exchange of expertise and knowledge for the mutual benefit of both countries,” Ambassador Al-Subaih explained. He added that the partnership would significantly contribute to building capacities in peacebuilding, sustainable development, and conflict resolution.
The agreement also reflects Kuwait's long-term vision of enhancing diplomatic competencies to address global challenges. Al-Subaih emphasized that the MoU would help promote peaceful resolutions to regional disputes and support the role of women in peacebuilding through specialized training and awareness programs.
The signing ceremony was held at the Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping, and Peacebuilding, with the participation of Kuwait’s Ambassador to Egypt, Ghanem Al-Ghanim, and Kuwait’s Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, Ambassador Talal Al-Mutairi.
