KUWAIT CITY, May 10: His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, attended the signing of contracts between three government entities and the Turkish company Limak to complete the final phases of the new Kuwait International Airport passenger terminal (T2). The step reflects the state’s commitment to continuing major development projects and accelerating work on one of the country’s most strategic and vital projects. The signing ceremony was attended by First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Al-Sabah, Defense Minister Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, Public Works Minister Dr. Nora Mohammad Al-Mashaan and Amiri Diwan Undersecretary Sheikh Abdulaziz Al-Mishaal Al-Sabah, along with senior officials. Completion of the new airport terminal comes within the state’s direction to develop vital facilities and enhance infrastructure efficiency in line with Kuwait’s future development vision.
The project is expected to significantly increase Kuwait International Airport’s capacity, improve travel experience and passenger services, and strengthen cargo and logistics capabilities to support trade, tourism and investment. The project also represents a major development in Kuwait’s civil aviation sector and reinforces Kuwait’s position as a regional hub for air transport and logistics connectivity. It is also expected to contribute to economic and development opportunities, support economic diversification plans, attract investments and create jobs in line with the state’s aspirations for a more advanced and sustainable future.
