Kuwait Health Ministry adds electronic leave to smart fingerprint system.
KUWAIT CITY, Apr 16: The Ministry of Health has ordered the closure of a medical center and referred it to the Medical Liability Authority and relevant legal entities after detecting serious violations that pose risks to patient safety and professional standards.
In a statement, the Ministry said the decision was issued by Health Minister Dr. Ahmed Abdul Wahab Al-Awadhi following an inspection by the Oversight and Inspection Department, which uncovered multiple breaches of regulations governing medical practice.
Among the most prominent violations, the center was found to be operating under a licensed name while being managed under a different identity linked to a previously closed facility. Authorities also discovered discrepancies between the licensed facility’s name and the professional identities of its staff.
The Ministry further revealed that unlicensed individuals were providing medical consultations and engaging in clinical activities without proper authorization, including technical consultations by persons lacking approved regulatory status.
Inspectors also identified serious shortcomings in medical records, including the absence of proper documentation of diagnosis and clinical evaluation, raising concerns about patient care standards.
Additionally, the center was found to have entered into arrangements to carry out medical procedures, including hair transplantation, without completing the required regulatory approvals. It was also using an unapproved electronic account for promotional activities under a different name.
The Ministry stressed that such violations constitute a grave breach of medical laws and regulations, affirming that it will continue to take strict action against any establishment that jeopardizes patient safety or violates professional and legal standards.
