KUWAIT CITY, Jul 28: Kuwait authorities have closed five commercial stores after catching workers selling cigarettes and electronic shisha products to customers below the legal age of 21.

The action was carried out through joint efforts by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s emergency teams in Jahra and Farwaniyah governorates, in coordination with the Ministry of Interior’s Events Protection Department.

Officials caught the violations during inspections and immediately shut down the offending stores. Legal measures have been initiated against the violators in accordance with regulations prohibiting the sale of tobacco products to underage consumers.

Authorities reaffirmed that inspection campaigns will continue to ensure compliance with laws and protect public health.
