Addressing the press following an official reception for the delegation that participated in the recently concluded World Games Championship in Azerbaijan, Al-Otaibi expressed that the accomplished champion’s journey to qualification was predicated on an exceptional performance during the individual “trap” shooting competitions at the championship. Clinching the third position and the esteemed bronze medal underscored Al-Mudhaf’s prowess in the field.

Al-Otaibi noted that Al-Mudhaf’s triumph was well-anticipated given his global standing as one of the foremost players in the sport. He lauded Al-Mudhaf’s consistency and excellence displayed across all phases of the competitions, a feat instrumental in securing this remarkable victory.

He highlighted that the club’s aspirations extended beyond this accomplishment, with a drive to qualify additional shooters for the Olympics. The club’s participation in the upcoming Asian Championship in Korea in October and the Asian Championship for Cartridge Weapons, hosted by Kuwait in January 2024, reflects the club’s commitment to achieving this objective. These efforts will be supported by participation in various qualifying tournaments running until next April.

Al-Otaibi underscored that these successive achievements within the shooting realm were made possible through the unwavering support of His Highness, the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, along with the nation’s sports authorities.

In a parallel statement, the triumphant Al-Mudhaf expressed that this victory and qualification marked the initial stride in a journey to secure additional qualification slots for Kuwaiti shooters in the global arena. With upcoming qualifying tournaments, he remained optimistic about the potential for his colleagues to attain further qualification cards, attributing their success to their elevated skills.

Al-Mudhaf outlined his commitment to Olympic preparation, guided by the strategic blueprint set forth by the federation’s technical committee and Kuwait’s national team coaches. He dedicated this achievement to the gracious leadership of His Highness the Emir and His Highness the Crown Prince, as well as to the entire Kuwaiti shooting fraternity.
