Kuwait shine in Asian Karate Championship with 5 medals

ASTANA, Nov 9,(KUNA): Kuwait’s Karate team clinched a total of five medals, including one gold, two silver, and two bronze, at the conclusion of the Asian Junior and Youth Championship in Kazakhstan, as announced by Fayez Al-Daihani, the Head of the Kuwaiti Karate Federation.

In the martial arts category of the seven-day tournament, Musa Al-Mutairi secured the gold medal by claiming the top spot in the under-61-kilogram competition. Adding to the team’s success, Sami Al-Ibrahim and Fahd Al-Azmi earned silver medals, securing second place in the under 57 kg and over 70 kg competitions, respectively. Additionally, Haidar Hashem and Jassim Bafaqeer secured bronze medals by reaching the semi-finals in the over 84 kg and under 52 kg competitions.

Al-Daihani emphasized the federation’s commitment to nurturing the skills of national team players through their participation in significant tournaments, aiming to achieve outstanding results in international, continental, and regional sports arenas. In closing, Al-Daihani commended the impressive performance and achievements of the Kuwaiti national team in the tournament.
