AMMAN, Oct 14: Kuwait’s men’s national volleyball team finished fifth at the 24th Arab Men’s Volleyball Championship, which concluded in Amman, Jordan. Host Jordan ended the tournament in sixth and last.
Kuwait closed its campaign with a 3-1 defeat to Jordan in its final preliminary-round match, bringing its participation to an end in fifth position.
Kuwait’s participation formed part of the Volleyball Association’s strategy to rebuild the national team by blending experienced players with emerging talent and preparing them gradually for future international competitions. The plan also prioritizes the youth and junior teams as the association seeks to develop the game, restore Kuwait’s former standing, and return to challenging for top places and titles on the international stage.
Although Kuwait produced inconsistent performances against strong opposition, the tournament provided valuable experience for the technical staff and players. Giving younger members of the squad exposure to international competition was among the main benefits, with the association hoping the current group can form the core of a stronger team in the years ahead.
The association now aims to build on the experience gained in Amman, address weaknesses, and reinforce the team’s strengths ahead of its upcoming commitments.
The Kuwait delegation is scheduled to return home today from Amman, with players set to rejoin their respective clubs as preparations begin for the resumption of the 2025-2026 domestic season on October 22 following the break.
Once the current season’s competitions are completed, clubs will shift their focus to the 2026-2027 campaign, hoping to usher in a strong new chapter for domestic volleyball.
