KUWAIT CITY, Feb 1: The Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) has launched the service for obtaining part-time work permits through the Sahel platform, reports Al-Seyassah daily. This is part of procedures aimed at developing the labor market to meet manpower demands and to ease the process for employers to benefit from workers who are already in Kuwait as one way of addressing the demographic imbalance issue. Following are the conditions and fees for obtaining a part-time work permit:

1. Approval of the original employer,
2. Maximum part-time work is four hours except the contracting sector,
3. Payment of corresponding fees — KD 5 for one month, KD 10 for three months, KD 20 for six months and KD 30 for one year.

On the other hand, citizens are exempted from these conditions and fees. They can apply for part-time work with the approval of the original employer in line with the laws on protecting competitiveness.
