Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Al-Wasmi, meets with the official spokesperson for the Catholic Church in the State of Kuwait, Father Suleiman Haifaoui

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 3: Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Dr. Mohammed Al-Wasmi on Thursday reaffirmed Kuwait’s commitment to promoting tolerance, mutual respect and peaceful coexistence among followers of different religions. The Ministry of Islamic Affairs said in a statement that Al-Wasmi made the remarks during a meeting with Father Suleiman Haifaoui, spokesperson for the Catholic Church in Kuwait, during which they discussed several issues of mutual interest.

The meeting also highlighted the importance of fostering dialogue and understanding while rejecting intolerance, contributing to social harmony and strengthening the values of love, cooperation and coexistence. Al-Wasmi stressed that Kuwait guarantees freedom of belief and the practice of religious rites in accordance with its laws and regulations. He said these principles are deeply rooted in Kuwaiti society and reflect the country’s tradition of moderation, harmony and respect for all its diverse communities.
