KUWAIT CITY, Feb 1: Kuwait is taking part in the 8th Arab Women’s Club Games, being held in the Emirate of Sharjah from February 2 to 12, with a delegation of 69 female athletes competing across nine different sports.
Fatima Hayat, member of the Kuwait Olympic Committee and head of its Women’s Committee, emphasized that all athletes are committed to achieving the best results while representing Kuwait with pride and professionalism, highlighting the growth and progress of women’s sports in the country.
Hayat extended her thanks to Sheikh Fahad Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, President of the Kuwait Olympic Committee, and Bashar Abdullah, Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Sports, for facilitating participation and removing any obstacles to ensure Kuwait’s success in the tournament.
This year’s participation is notable for the increased number of athletes and the wider range of sports, giving the players more opportunities to showcase their talents and perform honorably on the Arab stage.
Kuwaiti athletes are representing clubs including the Kuwait Shooting Sports Club, Kuwait Marine Sports Club, Al-Fatat Sports Club, Salwa Al-Sabah Sports Club, and the Kuwait Fencing Academy. They will compete in shooting, archery, beach rowing, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, taekwondo, athletics, and fencing.
