KUWAIT CITY, Nov 24: Kuwait’s national men’s volleyball team, led by Argentine coach Julián Álvarez and assistant Zaid Al-Kazemi, has announced a 14-player squad for the first edition of the Arab Challenge Cup, to be held in Amman, Jordan, from November 28 to December 5.
The final squad includes: Abdulnasser Al-Enezi, Abdullah Al-Mulla, Abdullah Al-Mouyna, Fares Siraj, Badr Al-Attar, Rashid Anbar, Ahmed Al-Munees, Nasser Dashti, Abdullah Fares, Talal Abdulrazzaq, Abdulrahman Al-Mulla, Fahad Saad Yaqoub, Abdulrahman Al-Mutawa, and Saud Al-Duwisan.
Kuwait will face host nation Jordan in its tournament opener on November 28. The team is scheduled to depart for Amman on November 26. Other participating teams include Egypt, Libya, Bahrain, Palestine, and Tunisia.
Assistant coach Al-Kazemi confirmed that the team continues its intensive daily training at the Kuwait Volleyball Federation Hall in Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Complex, following a structured training plan prepared in coordination with the federation.
He noted that some players had to withdraw due to injuries or other reasons, but adjustments were made to ensure the preparation program remained on track.
Al-Kazemi emphasized that the tournament represents a key opportunity for the team to gain international experience, elevate technical performance, and give new players a chance to prove themselves. The goal is to build a strong national team capable of representing Kuwait on the international stage.
