KUWAIT CITY, May 15: The Kuwait Customs stated that the Air Cargo Customs Inspection Team foiled two attempts to smuggle narcotics concealed in postal shipments arriving from the United Kingdom through an courier company. The parcels had been declared as “body wash,” raising suspicions during inspection procedures.
Customs officials discovered containers filled with a clear liquid, and laboratory analysis by the General Department of Criminal Evidence confirmed the substance was a derivative of narcotic “chemical liquid,” with a total weight of about 2.3 kilograms.
Authorities said coordination was immediately carried out with the Customs Investigation and Research Office to initiate legal measures against the suspects and refer the case to the competent authorities.
The General Administration of Customs stressed that it will continue intensifying monitoring and coordination efforts with relevant agencies to combat drug smuggling attempts and strengthen security controls at customs and postal entry points across the country.
