KUWAIT CITY, July 27: Kuwait authorities have seized 1,550 pieces of women’s clothing and footwear carrying counterfeit international brands following a raid on a warehouse in the Capital Governorate, as part of ongoing efforts to combat commercial fraud and protect consumers.
The Capital Inspection Monitoring Department, in cooperation with Hawally Governorate Investigations, conducted the operation after a period of monitoring and surveillance. Authorities found that the warehouse was storing counterfeit products and selling them to customers as genuine branded goods.
The seized items were confiscated, a commercial fraud violation was registered against the violator, and the warehouse was immediately closed. Legal procedures were initiated in coordination with the relevant authorities.
In a separate operation, emergency teams from Jahra and Farwaniya Governorates, working with the Ministry of Interior, raided and shut down a salon and spa for violating ministerial regulations, including the prohibition of cash transactions for certain activities.
Authorities also detected additional violations at the facility and took the required legal measures against those responsible.
Officials stressed that inspection campaigns will continue to monitor businesses and enforce regulations to prevent consumer fraud and ensure compliance with Kuwait’s commercial and administrative laws.
