Kuwait seeks deeper economic ties with Japan, highlights investment opportunities
The Kuwaiti Embassy in Japan hosts a Kuwait Investment Outreach Seminar to boost investment.

TOKYO, Oct 6: Kuwait is eager to deepen its engagement with the Japanese business community and explore new paths for economic cooperation, the country’s Ambassador to Japan, Sami Al-Zamanan, affirmed on Monday.

Speaking during the Kuwait Investment Outreach Seminar — organized in collaboration with the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) — Ambassador Al-Zamanan reiterated Kuwait’s strong interest in attracting Japanese investment and expertise.

“The Embassy avails itself at all times to the Japanese business community who wish to engage with Kuwait,” Al-Zamanan stated, highlighting Kuwait’s confidence in the quality and accumulated expertise of Japanese firms.

The seminar, held at the Kuwaiti Embassy in Tokyo, comes as a direct outcome of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between KDIPA and JETRO during the visit of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah to Japan in May.

According to the Embassy, the event reflected the growing momentum in Kuwait-Japan economic relations and emphasized the shared commitment to expanding bilateral partnerships in line with Kuwait’s long-term development strategy, Kuwait Vision 2035.

Representatives from 20 leading Japanese companies attended the seminar, which aimed to spotlight investment opportunities in Kuwait and explore practical avenues for enhanced economic collaboration.

The program featured a presentation by Mitsubishi Corporation, sharing insights on its ongoing business and experience in Kuwait, while Citibank Japan discussed its activities in the country and broader economic trends.

KDIPA also delivered an in-depth presentation on investment prospects in Kuwait, focusing on infrastructure and economic diversification initiatives central to Vision 2035.

The Embassy stressed the significance of the event in fostering mutual understanding and advancing commercial ties, positioning Kuwait as a key partner for Japanese companies looking toward the Middle East.
