Kuwait Schools to Continue Online Classes After Eid

KUWAIT CITY, Mar 18: The Minister of Education, Sayed Jalal Al-Tabtabai chaired an expanded meeting with senior officials from various sectors within the Ministry of Education, Kuwait to assess the progress of educational and administrative processes and review the latest developments in online classes under the current circumstances.

Officials discussed students’ performance and engagement during the online classes period, relying on technical reports from guidance departments and supervisors in educational districts. The reports covered virtual class conduct, interaction levels, attendance, and challenges faced in the educational field. Academic achievement across subjects, assessment methods, and mechanisms for assignments and educational activities were also reviewed to ensure learning outcomes are met.

The meeting highlighted proposed plans for the upcoming period, including completing the curriculum on flexible schedules, strengthening support for students with learning difficulties, enhancing technical guidance for teachers, and expanding psychological and social support programs to maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment.

Minister Al-Tabtabai instructed the Educational Affairs Sector to develop clear schedules for public, private, special, and religious schools across all levels, emphasizing the continuation of online classes after Eid Al-Fitr if current conditions persist. He stressed the importance of monitoring attendance, engagement, and performance to maintain the quality and continuity of education.

The Minister also directed relevant authorities to enhance the technical readiness of the distance learning system, address challenges on the Teams platform, and ensure smooth, uninterrupted virtual classes. Administrative and financial sectors were instructed to streamline procedures and facilitate client transactions while operating at no more than 30% capacity, in line with the Civil Service Commission, Kuwait guidelines.

Al-Tabtabai emphasized continuous evaluation of educational outcomes, careful analysis of data, and coordination among departments to overcome obstacles and safeguard student safety while ensuring academic progress and overall stability in the educational process.
