KUWAIT CITY, Oct 15:  Schools across Kuwait were adorned with greenery on Wednesday as the Ministry of Education launched its annual Greening Week, a nationwide initiative aimed at promoting environmental awareness and reinforcing the importance of environmental conservation among students.

The event witnessed active participation from school administrations and students, who came together to plant trees and other vegetation within schoolyards, turning the spaces into vibrant green areas. This hands-on initiative aligns with the Ministry's ongoing commitment to supporting sustainability and realizing the Green Kuwait vision, which seeks to enhance the country’s green spaces and environmental stewardship.

A variety of educational activities were also organized during the event to underscore the significance of afforestation in improving air quality and combating climate change. Among the highlights was a plant-growing competition, where students competed in an atmosphere of creativity and cooperation, reflecting the Ministry of Education’s dedication to fostering the values of environmental citizenship and social responsibility in the next generation.
