KUWAIT CITY, Jan 23: Kuwait SC and Al-Nasr club qualified for the quarter-finals of the Amir Cup football competition after defeating Al-Tadamon on penalties 5-4 and Al-Jahra with 1-0 goal in the preliminary round matches of the competition.

At Ali Sabah Al-Salem Stadium, Kuwait SC won on penalty shootout after the end of extra time ended with 3-3 goals. Kuwait SC was leading by 2-0 goals scored by the player Youssef Nasser in the 50th and 55th minutes, the equalizer came in through Youssef Al-Anaizan in the 89th minute and self goal by Kuwait SC player Al-Mahdi Bin Rahma in the 93rd minute. Mathc headed to extra time.

Third goal for Al-Tadamon came through Youssef Al-Enezan again who scored in the 106th minute, Kuwait equalized with the goal through Mashari Ghannam in the 121st minute. Which ended in a tie leading to penalty kicks. Kuwait SC was able to score five penalties against four kicks to qualify for the quarter-finals of the competition.

In the second match, Al-Nassr defeated Al-Jahra with a 1-0 goal through its player Mohamed Daham in the 47th minute.

Kuwait SC will meet in the quarter-finals the winner of the Al-Shabab and Al-Salmiya match.
