KUWAIT CITY, Sept 21: Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah discussed by phone on Monday with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan the latest regional developments. The Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the two ministers also discussed diplomatic efforts to enhance regional security and stability and ensure safe and free maritime navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
Meanwhile, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Lt. Gen. Abdulwahab Al-Wuhaib headed Monday Kuwait’s delegation at a meeting of the Military and Security Coordination Committee, affiliated with the Kuwait-Saudi Coordination Council, held via video-conference. The Ministry of Interior said in a press statement that the meeting was attended by representatives of relevant authorities from both sides, along with security leaders and representatives of the ministries of defense and foreign affairs, the National Cybersecurity Center and the Kuwait Anti- Corruption Authority (Nazaha).
The meeting discussed several joint topics and initiatives on the agenda, as well as ways to strengthen military and security cooperation and coordination, in addition to developing mechanisms for exchanging information and expertise to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of joint efforts. The meeting comes within the framework of the longstanding fraternal relations between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia and their shared commitment to strengthening military and security integration and coordinating efforts in support of the security and stability of the two countries and the region. In other news, Kuwait’s Embassy in Saudi Arabia urged Kuwaiti citizens visiting or transiting the Kingdom during Saudi National Day on Sept 23, 2026, to comply with regulations governing related celebrations.
In a statement Monday, the embassy urged citizens not to raise foreign flags, display vehicle stickers bearing sectarian or tribal slogans or images, or organize unauthorized rallies, to ensure their safety and avoid legal action by Saudi authorities.
