Kuwait rout Sudan 11-0

Kuwait’s junior team celebrate their big victory.

DOHA, Feb 11, (KUNA): Kuwaits junior football team defeated their Sudanese counterparts 11-0 Saturday in the ongoing third edition of the international “Jeem Cup”.

The Kuwaiti teams goals were scored by Abdulrahman Al-Rashidi, four goals, Mazyad Al-Mutairi, two goals, Abdulrahman Al-Khedr, one goal, Saud Al-Saleh, two goals, Saud Qasem, one goal, and Abdulwahab Al-Hendi, one goal.

Meanwhile, Coach Ali Falah told KUNA that his coaching staff sought to end the match from the first half by increasing the pressure on the Sudanese team and scoring as much goals as possible, adding that the players executed the plan well and showed sincere determination and potential to win.

Today matchs result will contribute in lifting the players spirits for tomorrows match against the Russian team, which is currently equalizing the Kuwaiti team in points attained in the tournament, noted Falah.

A total of 20 regional and international teams are currently competing in this years event, including Brazil, Russia, Italy, Croatia, France, Chile, China, Portugal, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Algeria, Jordan, Morocco, Palestine, and Tunisia.

The third edition of Jeem Cup is for children aged between 11-13, and is sponsored by the Qatari Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, BeIN Sports, Qatar Tourism Authority, Ooredoo, and Qatar Olympic Committee.
