Seizure of a vehicle found in violation.

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 24: The Traffic Affairs and Operations Sector, represented by the General Traffic Department and Emergency Police, has reported a total of 29,490 traffic violations recorded within a week.

To enhance road safety and enforce traffic regulations, the General Traffic Department conducted various campaigns across all governorates in collaboration with traffic regulation departments.

Weekly statistics from these traffic campaigns include the detention of 20 individuals as a precautionary measure, referral of 19 juveniles to prosecution, registration of 17,552 violations, arrest of 19 wanted persons, seizure of 30 wanted vehicles, identification of 6 residency violators, apprehension of two individuals with abnormal conditions, and verification of 10 cases without proof.

Furthermore, traffic police referred one person to the General Administration for Drug Control. They also handled 1,967 accident reports, comprising 868 minor accidents and 245 serious incidents.

In the realm of police rescue operations conducted from the 16th to the 22nd of this month, a total of 11,938 traffic violations were issued, four cars were impounded, and humanitarian assistance was extended to 1,610 cases.

The rescue personnel successfully apprehended 172 individuals wanted by various authorities, along with 110 residency violators, 31 individuals in an abnormal condition, and 102 wanted vehicles. Additionally, 159 individuals without proper documentation were seized and referred to the relevant authorities for legal action.
