KUWAIT CITY, Mar 9: The Ministry of Information on Monday urged all media outlets, platforms, and professionals to fully comply with the regulations and guidelines governing media coverage of events in the country and the region, emphasizing the importance of maintaining accuracy, credibility, and professionalism in all published or broadcast materials. The ministry said it had issued a circular to all licensed media institutions and accredited correspondents, reminding them of their responsibility to ensure the highest standards in verifying news and information.

The circular called on media workers to rely only on official or reliable sources and to avoid publishing rumors, misleading information, or unverified news. It also instructed outlets to correct any inaccurate information immediately upon discovery through proper legal and professional channels. The ministry further warned against using personal social media accounts as sources of news unless the information is confirmed by an official entity, stressing that this measure protects public trust and media credibility.

In addition, the ministry highlighted that live broadcasting or field coverage from event sites is not permitted without prior approval from competent authorities and the Ministry of Information. It also prohibited aerial photography or drone use for media purposes without official permits. The circular reaffirmed the need to respect the privacy of individuals, refrain from content that harms Kuwait’s foreign relations, and ensure that all media work is conducted under valid licenses. The ministry concluded by stating that legal action will be taken against any violations of media laws and regulations in force.
