KUWAIT CITY, Oct 15: The Handball Federation's training body and national teams have officially released the roster of players who will compete in the Asian qualifiers for the 2024 Paris Olympics. This event is scheduled to take place in Doha, Qatar, from the 18th to the 28th of this month.
The published list, as shared by Al-Ittihad on their social media platform, features the following players: Muhammad Al-Sanea, Muhammad Qambar, Muhammad Boyabes, Fawaz Mubarak, Abdul-Rahman Al-Shammari, Saleh Al-Moussawi, Muhammad Al-Hindal, Haider Dashti, Youssef Daif, Hassan Safar, Abdulaziz Al-Shammari, Mishaal Al-Harbi, Abdullah Al-Khamis, Abdulaziz Salmeen, Fahd Salbukh, Muhammad Al-Erian, Ibrahim Al-Amir, Muhammad Ghazanfar, Hussein Al-Kandari, and Mahdi Al-Haddad.
In the Paris 24 qualifiers, our national team will compete in the second group alongside Iran, Bahrain, Japan, and Kazakhstan. Meanwhile, the first group consists of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, India, and China.
As per the qualification system, the champions of the qualifiers secure direct entry to the 2024 Paris Olympics, while the second and third-place teams earn a chance to qualify for the Olympic qualifying round.
The Kuwait delegation departed for Doha last Friday, and the team had a practice match against the Saudi Green.
In line with the qualifying schedule, Kuwait will kick off their campaign with a match against Iran next Thursday. They will then face Japan on the 21st and Bahrain on the following day. The preliminary round will conclude with a match against Kazakhstan on the 24th of this month.
It's worth noting that the Kuwaiti national team delivered outstanding performances during the 19th Asian Games held in China this month, securing a well-deserved bronze medal.
