KUWAIT CITY, Apr 16: The Ministry of Information has referred seven media outlets to the competent authorities over what it described as clear violations of applicable laws and regulations, underscoring its commitment to enforcing media standards and promoting a responsible and professional media environment.

In a press statement, the Ministry said the move reflects its mandate to ensure compliance with established regulations that safeguard the integrity of media content, uphold societal values, and maintain public order. It added that such measures are essential to strengthening the credibility of media messaging and reinforcing public trust.

According to the Ministry, the violations included the publication of inaccurate information and the circulation of news without proper verification from official or reliable sources. It stressed that such practices constitute a breach of media laws and undermine the credibility of the country’s media landscape.

The Ministry affirmed it will not hesitate to take legal action against any outlet found to be in violation, emphasizing that the law will be applied with full transparency and fairness to all parties without exception.

It also urged all media organizations to adhere strictly to professional standards, ensure accuracy in reporting, and rely on verified official sources, highlighting the importance of responsible journalism in serving the public interest and maintaining trust in national media.
