Kuwait ranks ‘low’ with AIDS cases

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 13, (KUNA): Reports from United Nations (UN) and World Health Organization (WHO) reports ranked Kuwait among countries with lower rates of AIDS cases, Undersecretary for Public Health Affairs at the Ministry of Health (MoH) Dr Majda Al- Qattan said Wednesday. Al-Qattan made this remark at Permanent National Committee to Fight AIDS celebration.

The celebration honored participants of a national AIDS campaign, which aimed at preventing and combating AIDS. She said the campaign was a “success” because society and government were working alongside in promoting awareness and spreading knowledge on this disease. On her part, Head of the Permanent National Committee to Fight AIDS Dr Hind Al-Shomar said that combating this disease requires joint efforts, adding that the continues support for the campaign showed “an ability fight this disease and to ease off burden not only on the country’s health sectors but also on families and individuals.”
