Kuwaiti players hold training sessions on the eve of their departure to Slovenia to commence an external training camp.

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 15: The Kuwait national handball team's first delegation departed for Slovenia to commence an external training camp, which will run until August 30. This camp is part of the long-term preparation plan for the Blues as they gear up for the 29th World Cup finals, scheduled to take place across Croatia, Denmark, and Norway from January 14 to February 2, 2025. In the World Cup draw, Kuwait has been placed in Group C, alongside France, Austria, and Qatar.

The delegation is led by the Secretary General of the Kuwait Handball Association, Qaed Al-Adwani, and includes team manager Abdulaziz Al-Zaabi, head coach Saeed Hijazi, and assistant coach Mohammed Masoudan.

The squad features 24 players: Abdullah Al-Khamis, Fawaz Al-Mishari, Hamad Al-Saqr, Othman Dayef, Mohammed Amer, Saif Al-Adwani, Fawaz Mubarak, Haider Dashti, Abdulaziz Salmeen, Mohammed Al-Bahr, Bandar Al-Shammari, Ali Naseer, Abdulaziz Dayef, Abdulrahman Saeed, Saleh Al-Moussawi, Mishaal Taha Al-Harbi, Hussein Al-Mutawa, Mohammed Al-Sanea, Abdulrahman Al-Shammari, Hassan Al-Mahdi, Fahd Abdulhadi, Ali Safar, Mohammed Bouyabes, and Suleiman Al-Khamisan. During its stay in Slovenia, the team will play 5-6 friendly matches to hone its skills.

Meanwhile, the junior team has left for Egypt to hold an external training camp in preparation for future international competitions. This is part of the Handball Federation's strategy to elevate the technical skills of players by increasing their exposure and field experience through early preparation.

Additionally, the Kuwait Handball Association’s Referees Committee will conduct an external training camp for referees in Croatia from August 19 until September 2, 2024, as part of their preparation for the upcoming season. The referees have already begun their local training sessions at the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Complex Hall.

The Federation also announced the second coaching course for Category C, certified by the International Handball Federation. The course will be held at the Leaders Preparation Center in Al-Khaldiya from August 22 to 29, in line with the Federation's coaching requirements as set by the International Federation.
