KUWAIT CITY, Jan 6 (KUNA): The Chairperson of the Kuwait Shooting Federation, Duaij Al-Otaibi, announced on Saturday that the eagerly awaited Asian Shooting Shotgun Championship hosted by Kuwait is set to commence in the country next Saturday.

This nine-day competition will see the participation of male and female shooters representing 26 national teams. Al-Otaibi shared the details during a press conference held at the club headquarters, confirming that the tournament would take place at the Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Range Complex. The event will feature skeet and trap competitions for both men and women, along with mixed couples and junior categories.

Of significant note, the tournament serves as a qualification opportunity for the upcoming Summer Olympics scheduled for Paris next summer, offering eight coveted seats each for both men and women. The Kuwaiti team is gearing up for active participation, with a lineup of 19 male and female shooters.

Speaking at the press conference, Obaid Al-Osaimi, the tournament director and club secretary, assured that all preparations for the event have been successfully completed. The stage is set for an exciting and competitive tournament showcasing the prowess of shooters from across the Asian continent.
