Kuwait Premier Padel Major kicks off

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 25: The Kuwait Premier Padel Major 2026 gets underway today at Arena Mall 360, featuring some of the world’s top-ranked players and leading stars of the sport. The tournament runs through October 31.

Speaking at a press conference yesterday, Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Youth and Sports, Bashar Abdullah, highlighted the rapid growth of padel in Kuwait in recent years and the government’s commitment to supporting major sporting events.

Abdullah said Minister of State for Youth and Sports Dr. Tareq Al-Jalahma attaches great importance to such initiatives, adding that the authority continues to encourage sports development across the country. He thanked the organizers and sponsors and wished the tournament every success.

Sponsored by BNK Holding Group, the event is part of the Kuwait Youth and Sports Season initiative.

Tournament Director Meshal Al-Ansari said Kuwait is hosting the competition for the first time, praising the Public Authority for Youth and Sports for its support and continued efforts to ensure a successful event.

Al-Ansari also thanked government agencies for facilitating the tournament and acknowledged the sponsors’ contributions. He called on fans to attend and enjoy the world-class competition.

Waleed Al-Saqabi, director of the Kuwait Youth and Sports Season project, said the initiative was launched on October 1 to strengthen Kuwait’s position as a destination for international sporting, cultural, and youth events.

He added that the season aims to raise Kuwait’s regional and international profile by attracting participants and visitors from home and abroad, boosting economic and tourism activity, and showcasing the country’s organizational capabilities.
